Disinfecting Clothes

With kids going in and out of the house, to school and other locations, it’s easy to pick up germs from many different places. These germs and other bacteria can remain on your child’s clothes and then transfer to other areas and surfaces in the house. It’s always a good idea to place any of your kid’s worn items in the laundry basket as soon as they arrive home and then put the laundry in the washing machine to clean and disinfect everything at once. Clorox® Bleach and/or Clorox® Scented Bleach both clean and disinfect clothing articles. The steps outlined below are the same for both solutions.

  1. Add detergent.
  2. Fill Clorox® to max line in dispenser or add 1 cup (250 ml) for top loading machines or 1/2 cup (125 ml) for front loading machines to wash water.
  3. Add white clothes and start wash cycle.

Tips for School

When children go to and from school, they take a range of items with them into their environment as well. It’s these items that can easily pick up germs which can get transferred to the house when they return home Clorox® Expert Disinfecting Wipes – On The Go are great for using to clean and sanitize their lunch box, textbooks, and stationery each day. For older children, the wipes can be packed in their school bag. It’s important to also remind your children to wash their hands frequently with warm water and soap, and cough into their elbows if they ever need to prevent spreading germs.
